The class schedule is published on the LMS portal. Students can attend the classes through live webinar sessions conducted on weekends. These sessions are conducted by SMEs from the University and Industry Experts. These sessions are joined by students across India and from abroad. Key concepts on each subject, case studies and real life examples are discussed. Students also get chance to clarify their doubts / academic clarifications. If by any chance a student misses these live classes, the recorded sessions will be uploaded on the Learning Management System (LMS). Student can watch the recorded lectures from their portal.

The assignments can be submitted through Learning Management System (LMS) portal. The LMS access is given to the students at the beginning of the session.

Semester examination shall be conducted at the end of each session in Online mode. It is mandatory for the students to register for the end-semester examination. Student can register themselves for the examination by filling up the online Exam Registration form on the Student portal. The exam notification is always published under the Notifications Bar on the UPES Online .

You will receive a link to download your Student ID card along with your welcome letter. Please download the ID card and ensure you keep it safe until the course concludes.

Each student seeking to acquire their Bachelors or Masters Degrees in Management from this University, needs to successfully complete a Dissertation Project. The student’s objective is to incorporate concepts learned throughout the MBA/BBA program to address a strategic challenge facing a host organization.

Supplementary / Re-Appear Examinations for any program:-

Re-appearing charges @INR 1000 will be levied per subject, in any of the following scenarios:

  • In case of backlog arising out of no show in the examination after registration, without prior information.
  • Re-appear for Grade Improvement.

Semester result will be declared within 6 weeks of completion of term end examination. The result/grade card can be checked from the UPES Online Student portal.

Students in all undergraduate programs (BBA/BCA) will maintain a GPA, SGPA and CGPA of 5.0 on a scale of 10.0. For these students the passing criteria for each individual subject shall be 'C' or equivalent of 4.0.

Students in all graduate and post-graduate programs (MBA/MCA/PG Certification Program) will maintain a GPA, SGPA and CGPA of 6.00 on a scale of 10. For these students the passing criteria for each individual subject shall be 'C' or equivalent of 4.0.

Provisional Certificate

Provisional Certificate will be issued on request to any student who is eligible for award of degree from the University, if he/she has completed all the academic requirements of the program and has secured the minimum SGPA/CGPA required. This Provisional Certificate shall be valid till the time original degree is awarded to the student.

Convocation

A student is eligible for award of degree by the University, if he/she has completed all the academic requirement of the program and secure the minimum SGPA/CGPA required. The award of the degree will be done by the University of Petroleum & Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun, in the annual convocation ceremony.

NOTE:-

Degree will be awarded to students MBA, MCA, BBA and BCA programs during the convocation. For rest of the programs Passing Certificate will be issued.

At UPES Online, erstwhile Center for Continuing Education we prioritize the resolution of student queries in a structured and timely manner. To ensure this, each student is assigned a dedicated Program Coordinator, who serves as the primary point of contact for all academic and administrative concerns.

  • All queries are acknowledged and responded to within 24 hours.
  • The Helpdesk operates via a centralized ticketing system, allowing the support team to monitor and manage all requests through a single dashboard.
  • Each query is addressed and closed within three iterations to ensure timely resolution.

Individual Attention Students requiring personal attention or needing resolution from faculty members may reach out via the DSW Helpdesk. The Helpdesk will coordinate and ensure that the concerned faculty member addresses the student’s query appropriately.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicable to all Alumni graduated from 2018 onwards. For any Alumni graduated before 2018, department of alumni relations will present the case to the scholarship committee for special approval.
  • Alumni have to meet the notified eligibility criteria for AY 2025-26 for the respective programs.
  • Should not been awarded grade F or improvement in any of the course/paper in any of the semesters.

Admission Criteria:

  • Alumni have to directly apply online and have to email his/her academic details along with application number.
  • Alumni have to go through the admission process of the applied program as per the notified selection process for AY 2024-25.
  • Alumni will have to clear the selection process.

Offered Scholarship:

  • Applicable on only 20% tuition fee waiver for all certification programs. Rest all fee components to be charged as per the notification of AY 2025-26.
  • No other scholarship will be offered or clubbed with this scholarship
  • No Alumni fee to be charged
  • Renewal of the scholarship for the subsequent year will be only based on attaining minimum 8 SGPA /CGPA with no back log and no disciplinary cases registered or reported against the student.
  • In case of refund applied after admissions – refund policy will be applicable for AY 2025-26.

The term alumni refers to individuals who have successfully graduated from degree programs from UPES Online (UG / PG) in OL/ODL mode. Registration of alumni will be done as follows:
      • One-time alumni registration fee of ₹ 1500/- at the time of admission (will be included in the first semester fee)
      • Registration of alumni will be done by registering on the UPES Alumni portal for which a link will be shared before convocation.

UPES Online will maintain an alumni directory that will be used to communicate with alumni through email, newsletters, social media, and other channels. UPES Online will also provide regular updates on the institution's activities and accomplishments, as well as alumni-specific events and opportunities.

UPES Online will provide a variety of benefits to its alumni, including:

  • Virtual networking events
  • Access to online alumni directories
  • Career counseling service for limited duration (2 years of graduation)
  • Virtual reunion events / Selected Alumni to be invited to attend face to face events

Who will get the Scholarship?

All students who have enrolled in the Bachelor’s and Master’s program of UPES Online, and have met the following stated criteria shall be eligible for consideration for this scholarship.

  • Should have enrolled in the UPES Online
  • Should have completed –
    - Class 12th by 31st July 2024 for UG
    - Graduation by 31st July 2024 for PG + a minimum of 3 years working experience

  • Benefit transfer 2nd semester: Rs. 2500/- (on meeting T&C/Renewal criteria)
  • Benefit transfer 3rd semester: Rs. 2500/- (on meeting T&C/Renewal criteria)
  • Benefit transfer 4th semester: Rs. 2500/- (on meeting T&C/Renewal criteria)
 

Term & Conditions / Renewal Criteria

The terms and conditions outlined herein ("Terms and Conditions"), shall govern the SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM at "UPES" (erstwhile University of Petroleum and Energy Studies).

By participating in the scholarship program, the student concerned (User) agrees as follows: -

  • The student should not be a Fee Defaulter at any time during the program.
  • The student should be regular in attending his classes and examinations.
  • In the event of discontinuance of the scholarship for any reason whatsoever, the scholarship shall not be renewed.
  • UPES reserves the right to change, modify or withdraw the scholarship or its Terms & Conditions, without any prior notice
  • Special fee benefits under corporate MOU and academic scholarships or any other similar scheme, can’t be combined.
 

Scholarship Benefits

  • The scholarship will be offered for the full course duration on the full course fee, subject to fulfilling the renewal criteria.
  • Scholarship amount will be transferred/adjusted in the course fee semester-wise based on the renewal criteria.
  • Scholarship will be given in the form of Fee Concession; Fee Discount; or Fee Waiver.
  • Awarded scholarships can’t be exchanged for cash/cheque or transferred to any other course or academic year etc. The scholarship amount will be adjusted against student fees.
  • UPES reserves the right to withdraw or amend any listed scholarship without prior notification and at any point in time at its sole discretion
  • If scholarship-selected students choose to decline admission to the selected course offer, said students’ scholarships shall become void ab-initio. In case of withdrawal, the scholarship granted shall be withdrawn & refund shall be granted as per the normal fee structure.
  • A student will be eligible for the award of only one type/scheme of Scholarship in a given Academic Year.

Disclaimer

  • Notwithstanding anything under this Scholarship scheme, UPES's Management has sole discretion to edit, modify, change, update, continue or abandon above-mentioned Scholarship going Forward at any given point in time, without any prior written intimation. The Vice Chancellor will be the final deciding authority for all scholarship decisions as stated in this specific disclaimer
  • There is no concept of automatic renewal for next semester. The Scholarship Committee shall decide every semester subject to the renewal criteria.

  1. Exam Scheduling and Slot Booking Process:-

  2. Unfair Means (UFM):-

    Students resorting to Unfair Means in any component of evaluation in the Program will be taken very seriously. Faculty members/Course Coordinators/Invigilators/Proctors would bring such instances of the use of unfair means to the notice of the Examination Committee immediately, so that appropriate disciplinary action can be initiated after examination of evidences provided.
    Any student adopting unfair means including talking or in possession of notes, books, mobile phones, searching for responses online etc. would be conferred zero (“0”) in that examination.
    Such students would not be able to appear in the examination till the next examination cycle.

All UPES Online students are advised to pay their Semester fee by the 15th of June and 15th of December every year, for the July and January Sessions respectively. For April and October Sessions the Semester fees need to be paid by 15th of March and 15th of September respectively. The Fee can be paid via the following three modes:

A student doing a program through online education has to register himself/herself for each semester to become eligible to appear for the university examinations. Though the students have the flexibility to choose their pace of Learning and Academic Progression, it is recommended that the students to get re-registered to the subsequent higher semester/module by paying the re-registration fee as per their fee payment plan at the beginning of a session within the prescribed deadlines. Re-registration to the higher semester is mandatory to become eligible to appear for the university examination for existing students.

NOTE: -

The student has to only pay for the total number of semesters/modules of the program he/she has registered for. The University does not charge any extra fee for any additional Semesters/modules allowed to the student within the prescribed norms of the University.

For Example:

Students registered for a MBA Program of 2 years, is allowed a flexibility of 2 more years (4 semesters) to complete their academic requirements towards the completion of their MBA Program. The student however needs to pay for only for the 4 Semesters (2 years) of the prescribed duration of the MBA Program.

Late Fine:

The students not paying the fee later than the last date of payment as mentioned in the Fee Invoice sent, can re-register to the subsequent Semester/module by paying an additional fee of INR 1000/- over and above the prescribed Semester/Module fee.

 

Students who are unable to appear for any examination within thr program tenure may request an extension of *n+2 years to appear for the examination. Please note that 'n' refers to the stipulated tenure of the program.

NOTE:-

The Merit of the Case and the review of the current academic/fee status of the student is considered on case to case basis. However the approval for extension is completely upon the discretion of the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor.

 

Students who do not register for the subsequent semester and fail to submit their semester registration fee for two consecutive semesters will be deregistered from the program.
